Dear friends yet to be, current fans or curious adversaries – we need yer ‘elp, like.
We are The Revelator Band. A rag-tag, unlikely assortment wrought in the fire and grime of Yorkshire’s Calder Valley. We are unique, slightly demented, and we love playing live, original music borne of fire & mischief. You’re probably here because you’ve seen or heard about us as a live act. Every gig we play is different, unpredictable and singular. Some songs happen on the spot and sound like we’ve always played them; other songs are old acquaintances and yet never sound the same twice.
We’ve been reticent, nay negligent, nay unprepared, to nail many of these unruly bastards of songs down in a polished, studio recording. But it’s time. We’re ready. We’re doing it. We’re going to. And we can’t do it without your support.
17 years have passed since the band laid down The Stars and Drop, our last studio album. A polished chalice of blues and moonshine. The years following have seen a tortured metamorphosis of the musicians and their music; seventeen years of nurture and carelessness have filled the chest with a treasure until now only seen on stage.
The time has come to set these rough jewels into a crown for all.
If you would be so kind dear sirs, madams and others of every kind, to drop a few silver coins in this hat, then we may set sail yet again. We can promise you creative riches in return for your investment, large or small. Lyrics that drip with meaning and humour and malice and fun and truth. Driving, insistent rhythms that won’t leave you alone for the days and months after you hear them. Melodies and ideas that will become old friends and perhaps even bad dreams. Who knows? We can guarantee you a pretty, great sounding record that will take pride of place in your collection.
For the bold of heart, dig a little deeper into your pockets, step aboard, join us live or in the studio and even lend your voice.

£250 – Private Revelator Band Gig
The band will come to your house or nominated venue and play a full gig for you and your guests. You're welcome to join us to sing or play.
(Reasonable travel costs will be added to fee. Date to be agreed by negotiation. We will supply band & PA system. Backer assumes responsibility for any other costs. We are happy to play for up to two hours and accommodate support act)
£120 – Be our support act
Especially for younger musicians. If you're just starting out in a band and have never or barely ever played live, then come and support us at an upcoming gig. We'll supply the PA system & backline gear. We'll engineer you and give you a few tips and teach you what we know about putting on a gig.
