ITCH + SCRATCH. Help us be the change in theatre.

We are Itch + Scratch, a new writing company that aims to make the changes we want to see in theatre. We set up in July 2015 and, after five sold out events, we are currently working towards our next production; 'GREAT' BRITAIN at Hackney Showroom in November 2017. We need investment to help our company grow and support the artists we work with. Our three aims are to;

ENGAGE Engage with local communities, emerging artists and current theatregoers who don't engage with new writing.

REPRESENT Produce work that truly represents the world we live in today.

CELEBRATE Create events that put the audience first and bring together the Best New Theatre and a Great Night Out.

An Itch + Scratch night includes...

- 5 short plays selected from 350 submissions, performed by a cast of 6 actors.

- Live house band providing the soundtrack to the evening, between the action.

- Entertainment before and after the main event (e.g. ping pong tables, board games, live music, photobooth)

- Food and a very well-stocked bar.

Your money will go towards;

Running costs of each event (design, entertainment, marketing, technical support, transport)

Rolling administrative costs

Paying our creatives - our next big aim. Being able to pay people for their work sounds simple, but is far too often overlooked. We have a large team involved with each project (on average 35) so require substantial investment to make this a reality.

CURRENTLY: We want to cover expenses for all of our team and expand our reach. For this, we need £2000.

LONG TERM: Itch and Scratch has big plans. We also want your help to get closer to what we want to become...

TOUR. We plan to take our next show nationwide; working with emerging theatre-makers and communities up and down the country.

PAY. Pay Equity minimum rates to all creatives involved.

SHARE. Offer free, open-to-all writing workshops.
